- Graduated in Biological Sciences, University of Rome La Sapienza – 1989.
- Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology, University of Rome Tor Vergata – 1993.
- II Level Master in “Preclinical & Clinical Development of Drug: Technical- Scientific, Regulatory & Ethical Aspects”,
University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome – 2010. - Qualification of QP for producing medicinal products (Decree N. aIDT 89/2010).
Author of 57 peer-reviewed publications and inventor of four patents.
12-year experience in the evaluation and review/monitoring of EU-funded research programmes: FP7, H2020 and HORIZON proposals; Eureka-Eurostars proposals; Innovation Fund Denmark Peer Review.
18-year research experience in preclinical drug discovery and development, employing molecular biology, biochemistry and X-ray crystallography for functional studies and structure-based drug design (six years at Novartis, Basel; twelve years at IRBM-Merck, Pomezia-Roma). Main research subjects have been medically relevant protein targets in several therapeutic areas, like Infectious Diseases, Anti-Thrombotics, Cardiovascular and Oncology.

- Preparation of regulatory documents (IMPD, IB, pre-IND/IND, Scientific Advice packages) and interactions with EU/USA regulatory agencies.
- Broad experience at working in international and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Congress organization and chairing. Attendance at international meetings with oral or written presentations.
- Ability to deliver written and oral reports at all levels in English and Italian.
- Supervision of units, direct reports and of students and trainees. Selection and training of new hires.

- Preparation of Research Quotations/Contracts, Master Service Agreements and Quality Agreements.
